South Cariboo Farmers Market Society

Food & Beverage

For over three decades the South Cariboo Farmer’s Market Society has been providing local farmers, bakers, cooks and crafters a venue for selling their products. The Farmer’s Market embodies the idea of community spirit and promotes sustainable living and community self-sufficiency.

Many of its vendors have used the exposure they’ve gained in the South Cariboo Farmer’s Market as a launching pad for home-based businesses. Others have been able to expand existing operations thanks to their Farmer’s Market fans. On the other hand, Farmer’s Market fans have enthusiastically supported their fellow 100 Mile House farmers and vendors.

Not only is the Farmer’s Market the premiere place to find locally-produced goods, but fans also say it’s a wonderful place to meet up with friends and neighbours.

Meet the South Cariboo Farmer's Market Vendors

The South Cariboo Farmer's Market Society has made great strides over the last 30 years. Local residents in ever-growing numbers are embracing the idea of eating food that is produced close to home. Not only is the food fresher, tastier and healthier, but also purchasing home-grown food and hand-crafted items supports other 100 Mile House residents. More local money is kept in the 100 Mile House area which ultimately benefits the community at large.

South Cariboo Farmer's Market Society members are excited about a new partnership between the society and Healthy Families BC which is funding a coupon program. Local low-income families will be able to receive coupons which they can use in the Farmer's Market to purchase fresh vegetables, fruit, eggs and meat. For those who aren't able to garden, buying local produce is the next best option.
