While completing her 3,000 hour program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2013, Kristi took an internship in her home town of 100 Mile House. She noticed that there was a significant demand for health care in the community and with the encouragement of a few friendly clients persuading her, she decided to make the move back home. “It was a perfect fit,” she says.

Kristi appreciates the benefits of being self employed and is committed to developing her expertise. “I enjoy the challenge of operating my own business,” she explains. “I'm passionate about continuously learning new skills and techniques to help my clients achieve optimal health.”

Kristi admits that the desire to make a positive difference in peoples lives is what keeps her connected to her craft. “It brings me great satisfaction being able to help my clients reduce their pain and live healthier/more active lifestyles,” she says. “Being able to make a business out of it is very rewarding.”

Growing up on one of the local guest ranches, Kristi is an avid outdoor enthusiast who is grateful for the recreational opportunities small towns like 100 Mile House offer. Horseback riding, mountain biking, paddle boarding, hiking or skiing - everything you could ever want is here.

There is a nostalgic connection between Kristi and 100 Mile House and she is proud she was able to move back and share her massage therapy knowledge and training with the people in her home community.

“Everyone has been very supportive and appreciative of the clinic's services,” she says. “It has been easy to develop lasting and meaningful therapeutic relationships with the people in 100 Mile House due to this fact.”

Kristi believes business in 100 Mile House is expanding and says she has noticed that in her profession specifically three new RMT's have moved to town in the past few years alone. “I think that its wonderful that other health care providers are setting up their practices here and choosing to make the Cariboo their home,” she says.
